Shannon asked me the other day how I felt about losing over 35 lbs - I told her, that I felt relieved.

 

Why?  Because I didn’t think that I would be able to do it. I felt that I had been dieting and exercising for years, with no results to show for it.  I had been to doctors, dieticians, and through a number of various weight loss products and hundreds of dollars.  Nothing was wrong with me medically, but in my mind no reasonable amount of diet or exercise were working.  As a result, I was very skeptical when I signed up with Physix,  that I would actually be able to lose the weight.  The only thing that gave me hope was the fact that I knew another one of Shanon’s clients, who had gotten fabulous results.

 

Thinking back on to what has changed that has allowed me to finally lose weight - I would say, there are a couple of things that really stand out.  Killer workouts at Physix, of course - I was not pushing myself that hard at the gym, who could?  But  I also believe that significant credit has to go to the help I got with my food.  I must have just been eating too much, I was hungry from working out and not measuring what was going in.  It has been difficult to accept the fact that I must try to aim for a certain amount per day (so that I make sure I stay  under my do not exceed goal, allowing for the error that Shanon often warns about).  When I’m at home - I am measuring my food.

 

Little did I know, that my problem all along has apparently been my own failure to measure food intake and do the simple math.  Why don’t they have a test for that? :D

Tori's Story

Weight loss and gain is something I have struggled with my entire life. But it never really became that big of an issue until after my 21st birthday.

For the past 2 years I have put on a lot of excess weight due to alcohol and late night fast food runs. My self-esteem hit an all time low when I went shopping and couldn’t fit into the largest size of jeans in the store. I was 2 seconds away from going into plus size clothes. I became obsessed with shape-wear and wouldn’t wear anything but black. Then it hit me… I had reached the point of accepting myself as this fat girl.

 

That’s when Shannon entered my life. She has made my self-esteem peak once again. I am almost down 50 pounds and building muscle that I never knew existed on my body! It hasn’t been easy, but it’s bTori aftereen an amazing journey. Having her support and knowledge is something that has kept me going. She understands my situation and targets my direct issues. I am almost to my goal. She has taught me that there is no magic pill, diet or special shoes that will make you lose the weight. All that works is good old-fashioned calorie counting and exercise.

 

Shannon has made such a wonderful impact in my life and I can’t thank her enough. I highly recommend her and the Physix team to help you with all of your weight loss and fitness needs. Thank you Physix! You have changed my life.

I have been overweight all of my adult life and always thought that I had the answers to losing the weight, but with no success.  I made the decision to look for a personal trainer that would help motivate me to lose weight and I found Shannon Sorrels.

 

When I first met with Shannon, I was very apprehensive and not yet fully committed to having a personal trainer.  We met for about an hour, where we talked about her visions and I shared my derailing behaviors toward working out and eating right.   I felt more comfortable moving forward in this new direction.

 

After my first couple of workouts and logging my foods, I began to buy into Shannon’s philosophies and methods.  Three months later, I am happy to say that I have reached my first weight goal by losing 25 pounds.   Without Shannon and her support, I do not believe I would be where I am today.   I look forward to my continued success in losing weight and learning a healthier lifestyle with Shannon’s guidance, coaching and positive attitude.

I had come to accept my weight.  I had been using an online weight loss tool, working out regularly, and my plateau of two years ended with me gaining weight.  Then, I heard about the free, Saturday morning walk/jogs with Physix and decided to give them a try.  I was curious what Physix had to offer.

 

I started talking to people on those Saturday mornings and seeing their success.  I became upset.  I had worked hard and had lost nothing.  Physix clients were seeing results after just a few months.

 

I put my personal disappointment aside and decided to try working with Shannon.  I was skeptical that I would lose weight.

 

The first week I lost 5lbs.  I dismissed the loss as water weight.  Then I continued to lose. After three weeks, I could no longer say it was a fluke, my body truly was shedding pounds.

 

Shannon says that weight loss is not rocket science.  All you have to do is burn more calories than you are taking in.   That was the first thing I learned from Physix - know what you are eating/drinking in calories and how much you burn.  That was truly eye-opening.

 

The second thing Physix taught me was how to be honest about what I was eating and burning.  I had lied to myself for a long time about how many calories were in a cupcake and how much I was burning during my workouts.  I was usually okay telling those lies to myself, but it felt wrong to lie to someone I was paying to help me.  When I was honest, Shannon and I were able to work on what I needed to eat based on what I was burning off.

 

I am not a dieter.  I like food.  The difference is now I portion my food so that I have get to enjoy the taste, but I do not eat my day’s worth of calories in the process.   I have been on many diets before and gained all of the weight back, but I truly feel that this process has given me better insight on how to maintain my new lifestyle.

 

I do not feel deprived and do not have to spend the rest of my life on a treadmill trying to undo my culinary indulgences.

 

Oh, and I lost 20 lbs.
